I don't know how it is elsewhere but where I live it's that they don't even let you leave the classroom and put you in the "statistically safest place that is last in view upon entering" which usually only takes into account one point of entry and not the material or thickness of walls. Like if you had a classroom with a very secure bathroom inside of it, that's not where they want you you to hide, instead, they want you to hide in front of it which does nothing if the shooter gains access to the room as 20 odd students will be very noticeable there. In fact, if you manage to leave and possibly even escape the school, you'd be in trouble for "not following protocol" even if it's the dumbest course of action in that situation.

Even as a minor in Australia, a place where I am pretty sure doesn't have much shootings, I'm still watching this bro

My school got shooting threats a few months ago, the entire street was evacuated but our school. We had police lining the streets for 12 hours and we were on lockdown for 6 hours. Those were the most scary hours of my life. This was also in a first world country where there never had been a single school shooting, so the teachers werent prepared at all. Our teacher even thought it was a test, so he did not take it seriously, it was only after more and more news stations started reporting on it. The guy was eventually caught sometime in the afternoon, when police tracked his location and raided his home, they eventually found him in his shed, where there were guns upon guns lining his walls, and he was still sitting there spamming the message to our school. But on the plus side, we got to play video games until we the guy was caught
